September Awareness Month

Gold Ribbon Day is Monday 13th September, 2010 and September is internationally recognised as Child Cancer Awareness month.

Start planning now for September.

Wear your Gold Ribbon Awareness pin on your lapel for everyone to see. You may want to carry extra pins for co-workers, friends, family and people working in the businesses you visit.

Arrange with your employer to let employees Wear Gold to work to acknowledge Child Cancer Awareness Day. In return, collect a donation from each participant for the Be Child Cancer Aware campaign. Your employer may even want to match the employee contributions.

Ask your local school to get involved. Encourage schools to order our Fabric Gold Ribbons which have been designed with childrens’ safety in mind. Children love to be able to dress up or dress down at school. They can take part in Wear Gold and make a small donation for taking part.

If your school is taking part, why not make it educational. There are some excellent teaching resources available through Macmillan Cancer Support and Teenage Cancer Trust.
