October 2012

Welcome to our Beads of Courage members of the month.

OCTOBER 2012

Vega was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in late January 2012.
The beads have been such an invaluable resource for us, vialis 40mg to explain what is happening and for her to show to others and to keep a record of her treatment which is very long! It was remarkable to hear my three year old explain to her friend that “white beads are for chemo”. Vega is very proud of her beads and they come with us for every hospital admission to hang off her drip stand. She is just about to start maintenance and has collected more than 500 beads so far.
As a mother I have also become very attached to the beads and, pharm hanging off a hook next to our kitchen door, discount they remind me every day of the courage my daughter holds.

Nathan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, and he started the programme October 2012. Nathan has 11 special 100 beads representing the treatment he has already had so far, and he loves that there is a bead for each  treatment.  As a  family we are very proud of Nathan and so happy with his beads as  we feel it is real recognition for what Nathan goes through, and acknowledges just  how brave all the children are.  Nathan is already very proud to raise awareness of childhood cancer, and has taken his beads to school to show his teachers.
